Exhibition graphics: Corporeal
Corporeal was a sculptural exhibit at SFMOMA focused on themes surrounding the human body. Inspired by the motility, flexibility, and connectivity of the human body, I translated this into an emanating, three-dimensional title graphic with the help of exhibition designer, Edward Whelan, and outside fabrication vendor, Neal’s CNC.

Process
During the early sketch and ideation phase, I experimented with different ways of manipulating the typography to convey the amorphous, organic, ever-changing nature of the human body. To further emphasize the idea of curvature, I evolved the title graphic design to three dimensions, the idea being that the letters would be an extension of the wall, protruding and taking up physical space in the gallery as human bodies do. Combined with a paint plan featuring roundedness and curved wall builds, we successfully delivered the experiential, immersive experience that was desired.
