Burn

The song, “Burn,” from the Broadway musical Hamilton occurs in Act II when Eliza, Hamilton’s wife, finds out that he had an affair. The song is filled with quiet anger, confusion, and reflection. I filmed at a cathedral where I came across a beautiful, multi-level arrangement of candles. The smoke at the end symbolizes that Eliza’s world is no longer burning. At the beginning of Alexander and Eliza’s relationship, she felt like “the world seemed to burn.” Now that he’s betrayed her, the world isn’t burning anymore.
